Orthodox Church in Ukraine in the field of charity: history and modernity

Abstract

This article attempts to analyze trends charitable activities of the Orthodox Church in
the First World War and military conflict of 2014 in Ukraine. The author of the factors that
contributed to or prevented implementation of this activity. Attention is paid to the value of
philanthropy as one of the activities of the Church, which is able to consolidate Ukrainian
society.
