Abstract

The situation of autocephalous clergy in Kyiv during the 1920s is studied. It is revealed that members of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church had difficulties with material support, and their activities were constantly limited by the Soviet authorities. Repressions against autocephalous figures were constant and had a significant impact on both the possibilities of building a national Orthodox Church and the moral condition of its members.
