The problem of war in the fundamentals of the social concept of the Russian orthodox church

Abstract

The analysis of the provisions on war in the Fundamentals of the Social Concept of the Russian Orthodox Church is carried out. It is revealed that this document, along with a reference to the peaceful provisions of Christian teaching (sometimes tendentially represented) and an appeal to the relevant thematic developments of Catholic theology (partially tendentially interpreted), contains considerations and instructions that can serve for grounding and justifying the use of military force beneficial to Russian-imperial interests.
