The founder of the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church (1921–1930),
Metropolitan UAOC (1921–1927) Vasily Kostantynovytch Lypkivskyi (1864–1937)
is presented. The main attention is paid to the problem of finding and publishing of
documentary sources for the study of theological, historical-publicistic and epistolary
heritage of Metropolitan of the UAOC Vasyl Lypkivskyi. The focus is on publications
in the pre-revolutionary Kiev journals, performances and speeches on the First (1921)
and Second (1927) Ukrainian Orthodox Church Councils of UAOC and other gatherings,
articles in the magazine «Church and Life», several collections of sermons, letters from
church leaders, historical work «Revival of the Church in Ukraine». Materials from
Ukrainian archives and published documentary materials from Ukrainian diaspora are
