CONSERVATION CATHEDRAL IN PRZEMYŚL ON THE TURN OF THE 19TH AND 20TH CENTURY
Abstract
The realization of restoration procedures of the cathedral in Przemyśl was
performed between 1883-1903. It was conducted according to the project
done by Tomasz Pryliński. The restoration was an example of conservation in
the spirit of dualism of style. Regothization of church was conducted only in
the presbytery, the nave was left in the style of barock. During works a new
polychromy was made and the furnishings was changed. The stained glasses
was designed by Jan Matejko.
