The religious conservatism of Old Believers in Bukovina

Abstract

The manifestation of religious conservatism of Old Believers in Bukovina since their
settlement in the region during the last quarter of XIX ­ the beginning of XXI century is
investigated. The time of occurrence of Old Believers, its main canons and the positive
and negative effects are shown. Particular attention is paid to the beliefs of the villagers in
Lipovans village.
